Announcing PROVISIONS a “picnic to go store” at the Mentone Springs Hotel

Grab a bike. Grab a bite. Take a picnic. Take a hike.

Everyone loves summer traditions, but we sometimes get to our destinations and think, —it’s a perfect day to commune with nature, take a hike, and enjoy a picnic. So with that in mind, the Mentone Springs Hotel has created a one-stop picnic shop, PROVISIONS, filled with vintage picnic baskets, tablecloths, accouterments and food for your entire picnic needs.

“The idea just grew organically,” said Darlene Rotch. “We wanted to offer guests and visitors to Lookout Mountain an opportunity to enjoy Mentone even more, and what better way, than to step back in time with the serenity of a picnic lunch by the river, or with a beautiful view as a backdrop?”

Visitors can peruse PROVISIONS as it provides a vintage vibe that plays off the antique age of the hotel. Lunch can be ordered at the same time and packed in your picnic basket. “For example, we’re creating traditional picnics with fried chicken, sandwiches, fruit, chips, deviled eggs, pickles and chocolate chip cookies, but can get as creative as you like with advanced notice,” said Rotch. “We’ve also started offering bike rentals, so we can truly keep the tradition of picnicking alive as you absorb the fresh air and beauty of Lookout Mountain.”

PROVISIONS is located just inside the back entrance inside Mentone Springs Hotel. It is opening this Saturday at 9 am. Regular hours will be Friday 5:00 pm -9:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am -9:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am -2:00 pm.
